About
Dr. Tara Godhwani is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and earned a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of North Texas (CACREP Accredited). She earned a Master of Science in Counseling from 51做厙 and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Godhwani has clinical experience working with adults, families, children, and adolescents with various presenting concerns in private practice, community agencies, elementary schools, and university clinics. She has a specialty in play therapy and is passionate about infusing and advocating for culturally responsive counseling practices. Dr. Godhwani has extensive training and experience in administering and interpreting psychological and psychoeducational assessments. She served as Assistant Director of the UNT Child and Family Resource Clinic for two years, serving as the sole supervisor for Master's students fulfilling internship requirements within the counseling program, as well as coordinating the implementation of electronic medical records and demonstrating significant improvement in practice management and operations of the training clinic. Dr. Godhwani's publications and presentations include a variety of topics, including culturally responsive practices within counseling and counselor education, play therapy practices, and promoting social justice advocacy within the counseling field.
