51做厙 Simmons School of Education and Human Development seeks two exceptional academic leaders to serve as Associate Deans who report to and work with the Dean. Successful candidates will be established scholars, teachers, and leaders in a field of study of the school appropriate to the rank of advanced associate or full professor (with tenure) and with a proven commitment in proactively supporting efforts towards equity and inclusion. Per Simmons’ workload policy, Associate Deans have a 50% administrative commitment with the remaining 50% devoted to teaching, research, and professional service which is expected and supported.
An Associate Dean of Associate Professor rank must meet the requirements for Associate Professor with a minimum of five years at the Associate Professor rank. Candidates must provide evidence of a productive scholarly record that qualifies for tenure and promotion to full professor in one of the three research departments in Simmons: Teaching and Learning, Education Policy and Leadership, or Applied Physiology and Sport Management. In addition, candidates must show evidence of an externally funded research program; a publication record demonstrating sustained excellence in nationally recognized top-tier peer-reviewed journals; experience teaching graduate and/or undergraduate level courses and advising and mentoring students; history of working with diverse student populations; and previous involvement in varied service activities.
An Associate Dean of Professor rank must meet the requirements and qualifications for Professor with tenure rank. Candidates must provide evidence of sustained excellence in scholarly activity in recognized top-tier peer-reviewed journals that merits tenure and full professor rank in one of the three research departments in Simmons: Teaching and Learning, Education Policy and Leadership, or Applied Physiology and Sport Management. In addition, candidates should have teaching experience in higher education, including undergraduate, master’s, and/or doctoral courses in their areas of expertise; an excellent track record of external funding for scholarly activities; and experience in successfully mentoring and advising undergraduate and/or graduate students. Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate/Full Professor, Position # 52417
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will have experience in providing strategic, inspiring, and consensus-building leadership to an academic unit. The Associate Dean works to advance the quality and integrity of academic programs, implementing processes and procedures to support accreditation, overseeing educator preparation and certification, and leading faculty professional development and clinical faculty promotion. Further, the Associate Dean provides leadership and oversight to academic affairs matters including the curriculum committee, budgeting, course scheduling, new course and program development, and supporting the West Dallas STEM School initiative.

Associate Dean for Research and Outreach, Associate/Full Professor, Position # 53200
The Associate Dean for Research and Outreach will advance the quality and reputation of the academic programs within the school and has experience in providing strategic, inspiring research leadership to an academic unit. This Associate Dean provides organizational and institutional support for major research initiatives and proposals; oversees research compliance and certified approvers; oversees responsible research conduct, ethics, and safety; approves proposal routing forms (PRFs) and other research funding requests; and serves as point of contact for conflict of interest management. The Associate Dean oversees promotion and tenure for the tenure-track faculty, the work of the Director of External Affairs and Outreach, and the PhD program. The Associate Dean is responsible for supporting the West Dallas STEM School Initiative.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professors of Sport Management (2), Position Numbers 53014 & 53523
The Simmons School of Education and Human Development at 51做厙 (51做厙) is accepting applications for two (2) tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sport Management positions.
Candidates are expected to perform research and teach classes within the sport management programs while also mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The expected distribution of effort is 40% research, 40% teaching, and 20% service. Ideal candidates are scholars with demonstrated research in at least one of the following areas:

About the Department of Applied Physiology and Sport Management
The Department of Applied Physiology and Sport Management offers both graduate and undergraduate programs. Its graduate programs include a Master of Science in Sport Management and a Master of Science in Health Promotion Management. Its undergraduate programs include majors and minors in sport management, applied physiology and health management, and sport performance leadership. In addition, the School’s Ph.D. in education program offers an option for focused study of applied physiology. As needed for research and observation, students have access to the department’s two laboratories: the Applied Physiology Laboratory equipped with an environmental chamber, force plates, and teaching pods and the Integrated Physiology Laboratory that specializes in the study of autonomic function in health and disease.
Department of Counseling

The Department of Counseling seeks two full-time Clinical Assistant Professors.
Position Responsibilities
- Teaching clinical courses and utilizing generalist teaching skills for core counseling curriculum.

Assistant Clinical Professor, Position Number 53482
The Department of Education Policy and Leadership invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership. This is a non-tenure-track, ten-month contract with the possibility of renewal. The position is responsible for teaching coursework in the department’s two Ed. D. programs - one in PK12 and the other in Higher Education-- as well as in the master’s programs in PK12 and Higher Education. The candidate should be able to teach applied quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. The faculty member will serve as a chair and advisor for EdD dissertations, provide writing and research support to graduate students, and engage in service to the EPL department. The department seeks candidates whose professional experiences have prepared them to contribute positively to the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion; we seek a collaborative colleague to join the department’s community and be involved in all aspects of our work.
