What changes with Jamf?
After your first sign in to a macOS device with your 51做厙 ID number, your account will become what is known as a 'local' account. What this means for you:
- The password you used to sign in with will become your macOS password.
- Your macOS password will not automatically update with 51做厙 account password changes.
- Updates to your macOS password will not impact your 51做厙 account.
- You will not be locked out of your macOS account if your 51做厙 account is unavailable.
- Keep your macOS password secure, private, and in a safe place just like your 51做厙 password.
- If you forget your macOS password, you will need to contact the OIT Help Desk for assistance.
Also, following your migration, the Cylance Protect and Cylance Optics antivirus software will be removed and replaced by Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
How can I install software?
Applications from 51做厙 can be installed via the Self Service application. This application replaces the former application installer known as Portal Manager.
- Self Service can be launched by clicking the 51做厙 logo on your macOS menu bar on the top-right corner of your screen.
- You must sign into Self Service with your official 51做厙 email address, then by providing your 51做厙 credentials.
- You can save your login so that Self Service will remember you.
- Any application requests completed by OIT will be sent to Self Service for installation.
- If you need assistance with Self Service, please contact the IT Help Desk.
