Manan Roy

Manan Roy completed her Ph.D. in 2012 under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Millimet. Since then, she worked as a Research Associate at a policy research firm in Maryland, IMPAQ International, until 2014. In 2015, she then joined the Department of Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Postdoctoral Scholar. Shortly after, from 2016-2017, she held a brief tenure position as a Research Scientist at the Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke University. Then, joined the Department of Nutrition and Health Care Management at Appalachian State University as an Assistant Professor in 2017, which led to her recent promotion as an Associate Professor with tenure.

Manan has had the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from the fields of Nutrition, Public Health, Public Policy, Geography, and Epidemiology. With such experience and knowledge, Manan has published in journals such as Stata Journal, Economic Inquiry, Southern Economic Journal, Social Science & Medicine, Empirical Economics, Review of the Economics of the Household, Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health, Appalachian Journal of Health, Journal of School Health, and Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior among others.
