Undergraduate Research

Several Economics students have completed original research projects as student research assistants or as a part of receiving distinction in Economics.

Claire Huitt (Economics B.A., 2017) completed a Senior Distinction project titled "The Rise of a Regional Power: A Comparative Analysis of Chinese and Japanese Economic Growth" under the supervision of Dr. Marcela Giraldo.  Claire is now attending the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs as a JD/MA dual degree candidate.  

 

 

 

Toria Mullen (Economics B.S. with Financial Applications, 2018) completed a Summer Research Assistantship in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Klaus Desmet.  Her paper is titled "Stability of United Kingdom after Brexit: Will Scotland Leave?"

 

 

Kelsey Shipman (Economics B.S. with Financial Applications, 2019) completed a Summer Research Assistantship in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Eva Csaky.  Her paper is titled "The Inclusive Economy." 

 

 

 

 

Jaden Warren (Economics B.S. with Financial Applications, 2017) completed a Senior Distinction project titled "(Let's Play) The Blame Game: Retaliatory Antidumping Behavior in China" under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Osang.  His paper was selected as 51°µÍø's nominated paper for the DFW Association of Business Economists' undergraduate student research essay contest.
