Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) faculty members conduct research that supports the department’s mission and aims to implement change in local and national educational policies. Focusing on Higher Education and PK-12 School Leadership, 51°µÍø’s EPL department enlightens and empowers students and faculty to engage in research with real-world impacts. The grant-funded research in EPL has been funded by National Institutes of Health, Institute of Education Sciences/U.S. Department of Education, National Science Foundation, American Institutes for Research, National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Russell Sage Foundation. We conduct research in the context of our Dallas community as well as across the nation.
Through grant-funded and non-sponsored projects, EPL is committed to engaging in research and disseminating findings that lead to institutional change in the field of education. Our research focuses on policies and systems in education which leads to a direct impact on leaders and policy makers in K12 and Higher Education.
