About
Bret M. Menassa, Ph.D., is a Licensed Professional Counselor, psychotherapist, and board-approved clinical supervisor in private practice. Prior to this, Dr. Menassa was the Director of Clinical Services at Mayhill Behavioral Health Hospital in Denton, and a clinician in the department of Psychiatry at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas. Bret has counseled adults, couples, families, and adolescents facing difficulties with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, and other mental and emotional health issues affecting relationships, work, and family. Dr. Menassa received both his Master's and his Doctoral degrees in counseling at the University of North Texas, and has been an adjunct professor of counseling since 2006 and is teaching as an adjunct instructor in the 51°µÍø Simmons School's Counseling program. Dr. Menassa believes that learning is a lifelong process of individual self-discovery and facilitates the academic and personal growth of his students through the same genuine, empathic, humanistic principles he strives to embody when working with clients.
