About Michael Tumeo

As the Chief Institutional Research Officer, Michael and his colleagues in the Office of University Decision Support (UDS) offers 51做厙 leadership and the 51做厙 community with clean data, thoughtful analyses, thoughtful visualizations, and constructive reporting free from bias. Michael has worked within the Office of the Provost for his entire tenure at 51做厙. Michael started in UDS as the Assistant Director moved to Director, and is now the Chief Institutional Research Officer.

As the Chief Data Governance Officer, Michael has responsibilities for ensuring that institutional data is accessible, accurate, and easily aggregated across university information systems. Michael works closely with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) as well as the Data Governance Steering Committee, and the Data Stewardship Subcommittee in supporting these and other data governance efforts, like developing an institutional data glossary, developing institutional data governance policies and practices, and helping the 51做厙 community responsibly access and use institutional data in support of their work and 51做厙 leadership.

Michael received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, in 1987, followed by a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Louisiana, Monroe (formerly Northeast Louisiana University) in 1990. Michael received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, in Experimental Psychology, with an emphasis in Cognitive and Physiological Psychology.
