President's Picnic

University President, Dr. Gerald R. Turner, hosts this special event at the end of every academic year typically taking place the Tuesday following commencement weekend. The event, coordinated by the 51°µÍø Staff Association, is also the kick-off to Staff Appreciation Week with activities offered to staff throughout the next 3 to 5 business days.

In recent years, the picnic has been held in the Armstrong Fieldhouse's Indoor Practice Facility and in addition to not only great food catered for the event, there are games and drawings for prizes. Peruna also makes an appearance for picture opportunities. 51°µÍø vendors, both on and off campus, will have tables and information available, including SWAG to give away.

Beginning the day after the President's Picnic, the activities offered over the week-long event can include tours of campus facilities; activities through Dedman Rec; classes (i.e., yoga, cycling); and just some fun options like Therapy Ponies and Chair Massages. There is something for everyone!

The President's Picnic and any activities during Staff Appreciation Week are by RSVP.
