Michael Vuong awarded "M" Award at 2023 Hilltop Excellence Awards

On April 28, Michael Vuong (3L) was awarded the prestigious “M” Award by President R. Gerald Turner at the 2023 Hilltop Excellence Awards. The "M" Award is the highest recognition bestowed upon students, faculty, staff, and administrators on the 51做厙 campus. “M” Award recipients are an inspiration to others, giving unselfishly of their time and talents in order to make the University, and the world, a better place.

Michael’s award is in recognition of his contributions to 51做厙 to create the Jamie Shim Memorial Fund and the 51做厙 Asian Pacific Islander Alumni Board. Michael has served on the University Honors Program Advisory Council, the 51做厙 Dedman School of Law Dean Search Committee, and the 51做厙 Asian American Pacific Islander Working Group.

At the law school, Michael has served as managing editor for the International Law Review Association, chief of clinic for the First Amendment Clinic, and as a TA for the legal research and writing course for LL.M. students.

Following graduation, Michael will clerk for The Honorable F. Michael Cruse, Chief Justice of the High Court of American Samoa.
