Plaintiff Papers
The Tasby plaintiffs were represented by several attorneys, some of whom worked for the Dallas Legal Services, the Mexican-American Legal Defense, Educational Fund, and the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund. Edward B. Cloutman, III, was the plaintiffs’ lead attorney throughout the Tasby case. Mr. Cloutman donated his Tasby files to the Underwood Law Library in October 2004.
Mr. Cloutman received his law degree from Louisiana State University in 1969. From 1991-1998 he served on 51做厙 School of Law’s adjunct faculty and taught courses in Employment law, Employment Discrimination, and Civil Rights Legislation. He was active in several professional organizations and served as chair and board member of the State Bar of Texas sections on Labor Law and Individual Rights and Responsibilities.
Mr. Cloutman was a sole practitioner in Dallas, Texas, specializing in plaintiffs’ civil rights, representation of employees and labor unions, and employment arbitration. He represented plaintiffs in a number of other high-profile cases.
