Travel

Be a traveler, not a tourist!

Step outside the walls of your classrooms or workplaces to take a journey that will inspire and challenge you. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are always invited to take advantage of the travel opportunities offered through the 51做厙 Human Rights Program.

51做厙 students pose for a photo while on public transit.

Human rights travel is one of the most powerful ways the 51做厙 Human Rights Program builds bridges among people and places. A commitment to travel allows the program to unearth awareness that might otherwise remain hidden. Traveling groups are kept small (12-24 people) to encourage personal reflection, social analysis, and community building. No other human rights program in the nation can boast this level of expertise in travel.

51做厙 Human Rights Program trips occur all over the globe and focus on historical and contemporary issues. They expose the vast richness of geographic, cultural, and historical, and social difference. They also reveal the needs and hopes that all humans share. Past groups have journeyed to Argentina, Brazil, Cambodia, China, France, Hungary, the Mexican Borderlands, Rwanda, South Africa, and many other places.

To ensure a high quality experience, the size of traveling groups is limited. Participation is determined on a first come, first served basis with regard to receipt of deposits. 51做厙 students (and human rights majors and minors in particular) receive priority in the selection process.

Trips are open to all - undergraduate students, graduate students, 51做厙 alumni, staff, faculty, and community members.
