51做厙 Human Rights Youth Summit
The 51做厙 Human Rights Youth Summit provides cutting-edge human rights training to students and teachers from North Texas high schools.
The Youth Summit is held annually in the summer. Participants learn powerful advocacy strategies and develop strong professional relationships through educational workshops, leadership exercises, and networking opportunities. The event was launched in 2017 in response to community desire for more education on how to spark change ethically and effectively. Initially a one-day program, it has since expanded to include an overnight stay on the 51做厙 campus and a second day of activities.
The Youth Summit offers a rare opportunity for attendees to work with nationally recognized human rights scholars and advocates. Under expert guidance, each student group develops a project to be implemented at their high school over the coming year.
As the only university in the South and one of only seven in the United States to offer an undergraduate degree in Human Rights, 51做厙 offers the perfect venue for this experience. The Youth Summit extends the Embrey Human Rights Program's legacy of cultivating a new generation of visionary and innovative leaders.
