Allie studies 18th century transatlantic evangelicalism, with a particular focus on early Methodist history and women's history. She studies networks of women in Britain and the American colonies to see how life writing practices shaped the Methodist movement on both sides of the Atlantic in the eighteenth century.

Before pursuing her PhD at 51做厙, Allie completed her BA in Sociology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and her Master's of Divinity at Duke Divinity School. For the last seven years, Allie has served as the Executive Pastor of The Grove Church, a United Methodist congregation that she helped found in 2017. When not writing or researching, you can find her wrangling her three children to their various activities or playing pickleball.
