Appointments
The Psychology Clinic operates year-round, with some brief intermittent closures based on 51°µÍø’s academic calendar. Your clinician will inform you regarding closures and plan sessions accordingly.
If you are interested in any of our psychological services, please call the 51°µÍø Psychology Clinic at (214) 768-2398 or fill out a Request More Info form on the website. After a brief telephone consultation regarding your needs, you will be added to the wait list and/or provided with referrals.
PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL EVALUATIONS
There is typically a 4-6 month wait list for psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. When you are the next client on the wait list, your clinician will contact you to gather additional information and schedule the evaluation. Please note that divorced parents must provide proof of custody arrangements at the initial visit.
CHILD THERAPY SERVICES
Depending on clinician availability, there may be a wait list of 1-4 months for child therapy services. When you are the next client on the wait list, your clinician will contact you to gather additional information and schedule a free therapy intake appointment. Child therapy intakes are typically conducted with a parent or parents at the first visit and then an additional intake session is scheduled with the child. Please note that divorced parents must provide proof of custody arrangements at the initial visit.
After the intake interview, your clinician will review your case with the clinic team (Clinic Director and student clinicians) to determine if the clinic is an appropriate fit for your child’s needs. Your clinician will then contact you to begin treatment or provide referrals.
ADULT THERAPY SERVICES
If you are interested in adult therapy services, one of our student clinicians will contact you to schedule a free therapy intake appointment. The intake appointment is usually scheduled within 1-2 weeks and involves an initial structured interview that may take up to two hours.
After the intake interview, your clinician will review your case with the clinic team (Clinic Director and student clinicians) to determine if the clinic is an appropriate fit for your needs. Your clinician will then contact you to let you know if you will be added to a wait list and/or to provide referrals.
