Ph.D., University of IowaLuigi Marzetti specializes in issues that include governance, corruption, and market reforms in Latin America. Besides 51做厙, he has also taught or held research appointments at Duke University, the United Nations Commission for Latin America, the University of Miami, the University of Siena, the Copenhagen Business School, the London School of Economics, the University of Rome, and the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is the Director of International and Area studies and serves on the editorial board of Latin American Politics & Society.
He is the author of several books including: The IMF and Economic Stabilization (Praeger, 1991), Political Forces in Argentina (with Peter G. Snow, Praeger, 1993), Institutions, Parties and Coalitions in Argentine Politics (Pittsburgh University Press, 1993), Privatization South American Style (Oxford University Press 2000), Neoliberalism, Accountability, and Reform Failures in Emerging Markets (Penn State U. Press 2010), and the editor of Regulatory Policy in Latin America: Post-Privatization Realities (North-South Center Press at the University of Miami, 2000). His journal articles have appeared in World Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Comparative Politics, the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Political Research Quarterly, Electoral Studies, Studies in Comparative International Development, Crime, Law and Social Change, the Journal of Latin American Studies, Latin American Politics and Society, and the Latin American Research Review.
Manzetti has worked as a consultant for the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
