Biography
Dr. Michel Vetsuypens is a professor of finance at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business, 51做厙 (51做厙), Dallas, Texas. Dr. Vetsuypens teaches corporate finance and international finance in the undergraduate, the MBA, and the Executive MBA programs, and is actively involved in various executive education programs at 51做厙. He received a PhD in business administration from the University of Rochester in 1985 and was a Fulbright fellow during his graduate work. Dr. Vetsuypens' research interests include leveraged buyouts, executive compensation, initial public offerings, venture capital financing, and liquidity issues. His research has been published in the leading academic finance journals, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, Financial Management, and others. Dr. Vetsuypens is a native of Brussels, Belgium and speaks English, French, Dutch, Spanish and German. He is the recipient of the 1991 "Edwin L. Cox School of Business Research Excellence Award"; the 1996, 1998, and 2004 "Outstanding MBA Teaching Awards"; the 2008 "Outstanding BBA Teaching Award"; and the 2001 and 2008 "Carl Sewell Distinguished Service to the Community Award".
