The security of 51做厙 data and technology systems is a top priority for the Office of Information Technology (OIT). "Data Security and Privacy" training is the first step in understanding your commitment to protecting information you rely on for your individual role. In this tutorial, you will learn about the different types of information and best practices for securing and safeguarding the private information you create, gather, and keep. Examples include Student grades, Alumni donation records, credit card numbers of community members enrolling in a conference, health information for students that get sick and go to the health center. These are only a few examples, and while you are completing the training, you should be thinking about specific examples that you may see in your day to day activities.
51做厙 partners with Vector Solutions to provide this online tutorial.
To help enhance application and data security, effective October 14, 2019, Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be required to access this service.
After completing this training, you'll want to learn more about 51做厙's data security practices on the OIT website.
New Employees
New employees complete the training during their 90 day probationary period and are automatically enrolled in the training within the first week of employment. Once enrolled, employees will be notified via email that the course is available to them and will contain a link to access the training module, along with a user name and password. Employees should save this information in a safe place in order to return to the training at any time to complete or revisit the content. After the initial email contact, employees will receive email reminders until the training has been completed.
Current Employees
After the initial completion during the 90 day Probationary Period, or the rollout for employees in place as of July 2015, employees will be asked to complete the training annually in order to be informed on the latest updates and best practices. Employees will receive an email on the anniversary of the initial enrollment announcing the training is available to them.
