Robin Poston

Robin Poston Robin Poston is dean of the Moody Graduate School of Graduate and Advanced Studies and associate provost for graduate education. She is a professor of information technology and operations management in Cox School of Business.

Prior to joining 51°µÍø, she was dean of the Graduate School at the University of Memphis, where she led strategic initiatives to modernize academic, scholarly and international approaches that supported enrollment growth, student success and timely graduation. She also chaired its Business Information and Technology Department.

In addition, Poston directed the Systems Testing Excellence Program (STEP) at the University of Memphis’ FedEx Institute of Technology, where she supported interdisciplinary teams of faculty and students on government and industry-sponsored projects. Under her leadership, STEP researchers worked with the Department of Homeland Security, the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Defense Information Systems Agency of the Department of Defense, FedEx Corporation and others.

Poston has served as an associate editor of the European Journal of Information Systems and Decision Sciences Journal. Her current research focuses on understanding the alignment within the IT unit among developers and testers, client managers’ responsibilities, and agile development and testing. She routinely speaks to academics and industry professionals about advances and innovations in software testing. In her more than 20 years of experience in the information systems field, she has worked for KPMG Consulting, Educational Computer Corporation, Meta Group Research and Convergys.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania, Master’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida and Ph.D. in management information systems from Michigan State University.
