Student Academic Success Programs
Student Academic Success Programs (SASP) is dedicated to helping all undergraduate students conquer academic challenges and excel in their coursework. Programs are designed to maximize learning potential and academic performance for honors and scholar recipients, first-generation students, veterans, international students, student-athletes, and more.
We have something for everyone.
Services are located in the Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center (A-LEC) and include , the faculty-led Writing Center, Academic Skill Development, and the Disability Accommodations and Success Strategies teams.
How do we help 51做厙 students?
Academic Counseling
Work with a specialist to develop a personal system for managing time, tests, and texts.
DASS
DASS provides accommodations and services to students with a range of disabilities.
Tutoring
Tutors provide support for first and second-year courses, as well as many advanced courses.
Writing Center
Workshops
In 45-60 minute sessions, students receive instruction and learning strategies for specific concepts.
Learning resources

Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center (A-LEC)
The A-LEC is a highly utilized resource for undergraduate students at 51做厙. Located at 202 Loyd All Sports Center, the A-LEC offers services such as tutoring and a writing center to help students improve their grades and manage stress levels. Contact the A-LEC at a-lec@smu.edu.
