Perkins to Host Women in Ministry Day

Perkins School of Theology’s Baptist House of Studies will co-host a Women in Ministry Day with Texas Baptist Women in Ministry (TXBWIM) on Wednesday, October 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., at the Perkins campus at 51°µÍø in Dallas.

DALLAS (51°µÍø) – Perkins School of Theology’s Baptist House of Studies will co-host a Women in Ministry Day with Texas Baptist Women in Ministry (TXBWIM) on Wednesday, October 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., at the Perkins campus at 51°µÍø in Dallas. 

“The program is open to anyone wanting to learn more about affirming, connecting, advocating for, and inspiring women called to a variety of ministries, lay or ordained,” said the Rev. Dr. Jaime Clark-Soles, director of the Baptist House of Studies.

Featured speakers will include the Rev. Jennifer Butler, founder and CEO of Faith in Public Life; the Rev. Lynn Brinkley, Associate Director of the national Baptist Women in Ministry; and the Rev. Dr. Nora Lozano of the Christian Latina Leadership Institute. 

“The Baptist House is delighted to partner with TXBWIM, under the leadership of Rev. Anyra Cano, to offer this timely and engaging program that involves a brief address by Rev. Butler, followed by a panel and breakout sessions, one devoted to ‘Ministry as Advocacy’ and one to ‘Women in Ministry,’” Clark-Soles said.   

Covid-19 protocols will be in place, with masks required indoors and attendees asked to practice safe social distancing. Registration is required prior to event. Deadline Oct. 10. 

Cost is $10, which includes a box lunch and parking.

The Baptist House of Studies at Perkins School of Theology is an intellectual and community home for Baptists in Texas, the southwestern United States, and beyond. The Baptist House of Studies prepares students for service and ordination within the Baptist community and polity through education and formation.

During their time at Perkins, Baptist students and those from Free Church traditions such as the United Church of Christ, the Christian Church/Disciples of Christ, and non-denominational churches, are able to participate in mentoring, internships and fellowship provided by the Baptist House and take classes relevant to leadership within the Free Church tradition.
