DALLAS (51°µÍø) – A new virtual event series sponsored by the Perkins School of Theology Office of Development will offer opportunities for engagement and learning with Perkins faculty and staff.
The first “Perkins School of Theology Presents: Community Conversations” debuts on Thursday, July 29 at 2 p.m. (CST), and will feature Perkins professors Robert Hunt and Marcell Silva Steuernagel, who will share a joint presentation on the present and future trends of Digital Ministry. These faculty colleagues collaborated to create a special course on digital ministry for Perkins students during the COVID-19 pandemic and will draw from that experience—and beyond—for this event.
Viewers will learn about challenges facing theological educators and church staff members to effectively integrate technology into their work. Topics will include the human concerns of utilizing tech with spiritual matters, new curricula and theology that have evolved from this approach, and the way the COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we view the use of technology. A Q&A will follow the presentation, during which time guests may submit questions.
This one-hour event is entirely virtual (via Zoom), and is set for Thursday, July 29 at 2 p.m. (CST). Registration is required and the Zoom link will be provided following an RSVP here:
Please note: this event will be held in webinar format, with participants’ microphones and video cameras not activated. Questions may be submitted via the Zoom chat function.
