Two Mustangs Sign Pro Deals
Former 51做厙 standouts Chris Banjo and Marquis Frazier have signed professional football contracts. Banjo will join the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL, while Frazier will head north to the Winnipeg Jets of the CFL.
DALLAS (51做厙) - Former 51做厙 standouts Chris Banjo and Marquis Frazier have signed professional football contracts. Banjo will join the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL, while Frazier will head north to the Winnipeg Jets of the CFL.
Banjo was not with an NFL club in 2012 after participating on a tryout basis with Oakland and Pittsburgh at their respective rookie minicamps. He was a four-year starting safety on the Hilltop, where he started all 12 games as a senior and posted 82 tackles. The Sugar Land, Texas, native was an honorable-mention All-Conference USA selection following his senior season.
Frazier, who also sat out the 2012 season, finished his collegiate career with 142 total tackles, ten sacks, one interception and five pass breakups. He was named second team All-C-USA as a senior after starting games at both defensive tackle and defensive end, recording 45 tackles and three sacks in 2011.
