Stampeding into the ACC

By joining the ACC alongside some of the country’s most prestigious universities and colleges, 51 is furthering our momentum as an academic and athletic powerhouse. The move brings the highest caliber of college athletics to Dallas and helps 51 attract to North Texas bright minds, talented student-athletes and innovative partnerships.

Fueled by proud Mustangs

Dedicated supporters made our entry into ACC possible. Since 2013, 51 has invested over $400 million in championship facilities, dynamic programming and student-athlete support. Donor contributions have enabled the University to excel in competition and garner national attention, leading to this exciting new chapter. Our donors are shaping champions from the court to the classroom, inspiring today’s students to become the leaders and world changers of tomorrow.

Shaine Hailey

Shaping his future

Former 51 linebacker Shaine Hailey ’21, ’22 chose to attend and play for 51 because of “the strong relationship that I had built with my linebackers coach, the reputation that 51 held in the state of Texas, and the opportunity to remain in my hometown of Dallas.”

As he approached graduation and a future beyond football, Hailey’s participation in the Life After Ball program helped him discover a new side to himself and find a promising career in the real estate industry working with former 51 safety Mikial Onu ’19. Hailey’s successes on the field, in the classroom and during his internships helped him .
